Happy 11th Birthday from here to China!

Happy 11th Birthday, YP! We are thinking of you!
Last Sunday, our sweet little boy turned eleven! We can't send him anything yet, but we wanted to celebrate somehow and think of him. So we sang "Happy Birthday", had a little birthday cake and talked about how next January, he will be here to blow out his own candles! We put 11 candles on the cake and the "Happy Birthday" letters had candles as well. So there were plenty of them to go around for everyone...

Normally, the non-birthday kids have to exercise A LOT of restraint so the birthday person gets to blow out their  own candles. (Or there will inevitably be many tears shed!)

But not today...everyone got to help out! (Note the amount of powdered sugar now covering the table.)
Dr. G and I were hesitant to actually cut and serve said cake after everyone blew/spit/sneezed the candles out. But we did...and it was yummy. Happy Birthday to our birthday boy far away in China. I hope it was at least a little bit special for you. Next year you will be here to celebrate with your forever family and we will make sure it is a special day indeed!
